Lift Off Is Here

11. Fairing & Fibreglass

  • 4/10/2023 - Ground the dags from inside the hull where planks were joined & started fairing the inside of the hull.
  • 5/10/2023 - Ground out the end corners and started to bog but it got hot real quick and went off and looked like a dogs breakfast so had to scrape as as much as we could out and redo it.
  • 6/10/2023 - Finished fairing inside and the cove ready to sand.
  • 8/10/2023 - Sanded all faired sections. Filled the end corners once again.  The front we laid 2 layers of 600gm fibreglass so we don't have to worry about it when doing the main part of the hull. Redid some areas with fairing compound.  Cleared tables ready to cut fibreglass and peel ply.
  • 9/10/2023 - Sanded once again. Back corner bogged and fibreglassed.
  • 10/10/2023 - Fibreglassed down to flair
  • 11/10/2023 - Fibreglassed large cove section
  • 12/10/2023 - Rolled the boat & ground off the dags and applied fairing compound to even out the surface.
  • 13/10/2023 - Big day - Sanded and Fibreglassed second side - inside.
  • 14/10/2023 - Saturday night set into cradles.

Inside Grinding, Sanding, Fairing & Fibreglassing

Roll and Repeat - Side ✌🏼

Fibreglassing Right in the Bottom of the Inside of the Hull  - COMING NOT SO SOON but coming when we do it.  This will get done the same time as the second hull. So stay tuned for that .  Bit of a tight area, so it could be a bit tricky.
