Fuel Tanks

14/6/2026 - Started Drawing out the fuel and water tank floors on 20mm fibreglassed foam.

15/6/2026 - Cut out the floors for fuel tanks.

18/6/2026 - Cut out Baffles for fuel tanks using thin plywood.  Cut sections in the floor pieces for the well. (lower area for fuel to flow to for the pickup.

Made well, glued and clamped pieces together.

19/6/2026 - Day trip to ATL to pick up last drum of resin and the last of foam required for flooring and furniture plus flow coat.

21/6/2026 - Sanded all in the fuel and water tank areas.  Painted in the bottom of the fuel tanks, below floor level.  Painted the underside of the floor pieces.  Fibreglassed part of the well pieces and fibreglassed both sides of the baffles for the fuel tanks.

22/6/2026 - Went fishing 🎣 and only caught Bass that are in breeding season. Released back.  No flathead. 

23/6/2026 - Glued in the wells and the floors of the fuel tanks.  Trimmed down baffle edges to fit tanks again, after fibreglassing.

24/6/2026 - Cut out fibreglass to do the floors in the bottom of the fuel tanks.  Trev cut mdf to frame out the shape of the floor (sole in boat terms) that sits on top of the fuel/water tanks.  Traced out floors on 20mm foam.

25/6/2026 - Cut out the floors.  Bored holes in the baffles.

26/6/2026 - Fibreglassed the fuel tank floors in.

28/6/2026 - Fibreglassed the angle tops on the baffles and glued in the angle around the fuel tank areas for the floor(sole) to sit on.

29/6/2026 - Cut fibreglass, trimmed baffles to correct height and cut floor for the shower area.

30/6/2026 - Trimmed up the shower floor a bit more and resin filled the cuts and clalmped down to make a fall of about 23mm to go into a well that will have a pump out pump installed.  Fibreglassed angle in all fuel tanks and fibreglassed in one baffle and tacked in the other 3 ready to fibreglass.

1/7/2026 - Finished fibreglassing in the 3 baffles. Glued the shower well together. Cut all the floors under the toilet, king single and water tanks.

2/7/2026 - Cut angle, fitted and glued in the water tanks.  Pulled peel ply off baffles.  Sanded starboard side water tank.

3/7/2026 - Put some fairing compound in the fuel and water tank areas.

4/7/2026 - Tried sanding but not cured enough yet.  Re-worked the toilet height.  Thought it best to be higher than lower.  Getting older. 👵🏻👴
